The fixes and improvements remain the same for all three versions we are discussing below –

  • Improves the security of all Windows Components, Microsoft internal services, and others.
  • After installing this update, you won’t be able to install drivers using Point and Print. From now onward, you need to first access administrative privileges then only you can perform the above task.

If you are on version 1809, you will get a few additional bug fixes which are listed below –

  • Works upon an issue with zoom that occurs when using Microsoft Edge IE Mode on devices that use multiple high-DPI monitors.
  • Addresses an anomaly that causes Windows to stop working when it uses AppLocker to validate a file that has multiple signatures. The error is 0x3B.

How to Get Security updates for your respective Windows 10 version

Ideally, you don’t need to do anything as your PC will automatically download and install the latest Build release. However, as Microsoft pushes new updates in separate batches, your PC might receive them a few days late. If you don’t want to wait, do the following –

  • Open Settings app (Win + I) and navigate to the path below –

Update & Security > Windows Update

  • Head over to the right pane and hit Check for updates.
  • The system will then connect to Microsoft’s servers, and force download the pending updates.
  • When the downloading completes, its installation begins soon afterward.
  • In the end, you will receive a prompt asking to restart your PC.
  • Well, reboot your device. Just make sure to keep your computer connected to a power supply unless your PC comes back to life.

Via Microsoft Update Catalog

In case you are on a metered connection or want to spend the least possible data behind security updates, you may download the setup file by visiting the Update Catalog site. We have provided direct links to all system architectures of Windows 10 versions 1607, 1809, and 1909.
