The Start Menu is the biggest visual change on the new operating system ‘Windows 11’ that is going to come by the end of Oct 2021. As opposed to Start titles, the new menu features a search bar, pinned apps, a link to view All apps, and a recommended section. The lower half of the Start Menu is termed “Recommended” and consists of all of your recent works.

This helps to easily access the work that you just finished, recently opened programs, and many more. Though this is a useful feature to start with, some may find it unnecessary. If you are one such user and want to disable Start Menu recommended section, this post is for you.

Note: In case you want to disable this feature just for the sake of introducing other items, you are mistaken. After you hide this section, all you can see is a recommended section with a link to turn them On by opening Start settings.

How to add personalized folders or apps besides the Power button

  • Right-click anywhere on the desktop and select Personalize.
  • Go to Start and when it expands, click Folders.
